NEWS AND INFORMATION OF AND FOR MUSICIANS AND ARTISTS OF PAHRUMP VALLEY

DONATIONS TO COMMUNITY GROWN ARTISTS:   A recent article in a local paper suggested that to make a donation one should come to this website and go "to the donate tab." Actually this should have said "to the DLI/CGA tab," which you see above as the second tab.
See the tabs for BANDS and VENUES --
This amounts to free advertising for you bands and artists -- I have put in the ones I know of.
If you are not there yet, GET YOURSELVES LISTED...!

THE WATCH LIST -- Articles Featuring Young Talent

Charise Pempengco -- Angelic Voice
The World is blessed to have this sort of musical talent. The truly amazing factor with this particular person is that she is only sixteen years old. Not only does she sing like and angel, she does it with total confidence and presence. Listen here to some of her performances presented on YouTube. I dare you not to tear up. READ MORE AND LISTEN HERE!

Sungha Jung -- An Awesome Young Guitarist
This sort of talent and dedication are the sort of thing that, really, almost any child of this age is capable of. All that is needed besides the basic talent is the internal passion plus the support to make it happen. Externally we really can do nothing about the talent or passion parts, but there are many children who possess both but never get the necessary support. Without that all important factor, the talent probably never will have a chance to be developed. READ MORE AND LISTEN HERE!

I am constantly working on the format of these pages. Please be so kind as to email me your comments and suggestions to make this site more useful to you. In particular we wish to make this site content rich, so that we ultimately will be listing, as many as possible, the various gigs and venues available in the Pahrump Valley. All of this is constantly changing, and we wish to keep it all as up to date as possible in order to link it all together.

DLI / CGA

DIVERSITY LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE INC.
Dba: COMMUNITY GROWN ARTIST

MISSION STATEMENT:   The goal of DLI / CGA is to help children and young adults to discover their goals in life, through MUSIC OR THE ARTS.

Keep a watch on this page as we develop this all-important aspect of this Website. Now well into 2009, we are seeking funding through 501C for children whose families are financially challenged, to provide instruments, lessons, or art materials that would help them to find their true calling in life in the arts. -- Curly Holliday

For private donations, please email us here   , with "DONATION" in the Subject: line, or call 760-815-5212 and leave a message so that we can connect you properly through 501C for your tax purposes.

SpiDer's Web

"A man of humanity is one who, in seeking to establish himself, finds a foothold for others and who, desiring attainment for himself, helps others to attain." --- Confucius

MISSION STATEMENT:  To provide a resource for the musicians and other artists of the Pahrump Valley of Nevada to locate and contact one another.  This is meant to include people of all ages and all levels of expertise.  We intend that interested youth and other beginners thus will have an opportunity to learn from both observation and association with all levels of style and expertise.   This will provide both for inspiration and development of technique.  Additionally, "Spider's Web" should provide effective connectivity with venues for rehearsal, live performance, and recording to media of all art forms.

The Spider's Web Listing tab above is a listing of musicians and other artists. All of the tabs are constantly subject to adjustment.  We would like to include an updated listing of any gigs you are playing, spanning the next few weeks.  Try email the information to me and I shall build and adjust the list.  An email link is at the bottom of these pages.

In addition to email, we can be contacted through Cross Country Recording Studio (1200 N Leslie Street)775-727-8967; or Guitar West (1190 E Hwy 372) 775-751-1191.

We now gather at the Maverick Saloon & Dance Hall (340 E. Mesquite) 775-751-9988 on Sunday afternoons.  Initially this will be between the hours of 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.  This is a great venue, and the plan is to have Sessions (NOT "jam sessions") of about 20 minutes each.  If you have something to perform (this is NOT limited to music but is to include all artistic presentations), please contact SpiDer through the Recording Studio.  Please see the latest flyer here:  Live Sessions For Your Enjoyment

Please drop by and see what is happening.  It will be something different every week.  One never knows exactly who will be there, but SpiDer and Curly almost always both are present to get you listed in the Spider's Web Listing if you are not already there.  You will need to fill out the form so we can put you in the database -- if you wish, get the form here:  SpiDer's Web Signup and bring it to us.  Also, here is our informational handout (two to a page):   SpiDer's Web Informational Handout
