CHARLIE ANZALONE

Salvatore C. Anzalone, born in 1928, was a child of the Big Depression. "I was a rebel of Lexington-Concord and Bunker Hill Massachusetts; lived in Las Vegas, New York City, and Florida." At 80 years young, he climbed the pyramids of Palenque, Mexico.

Charlie quit school in the 11th Grade, was a Radar Technician in the U.S. Air Force, and completed a GED at 26. While supporting his mother and family, he earned a BS in psychology with minor in biology from Suffolk University, Boston, and he earned several masters degrees: MA special education/psychology, NYU; MS education administration, Pace University, NYC. He also completed three years in the education doctorate program, Atlantic University, Boca Rotan. As a certified teacher, grades K-6, he taught and counseled special needs youth for 16 years, and worked for NYC's Department of Welfare.

Despite life's turmoil, his ideas remain rich with all that embodies good teaching. "All the efforts I put forth are still with me. My philosophy is life is what you make it. Always see the cup half full, give up only for the day, see failures as events for future successes, see problems as programs for learning, and live the moment, for it is the only thing you are sure of. Yesterday is a learning tool; tomorrow is for hope. Your reality is today, now, this second."

He has published his works in the Pseudonym, Spotlight on Pahrump, and newsletters for: Ancient Secrets, NV Country Music Association (NCMA), and Pahrump Master Gardeners Newsletter published by University of Nevada Cooperative Extension, Southern Nye County NV.
